Very faint clicking while in gear?
Hello all, I have a 2SS M6. When I am driving I can hear a very very faint clicking, and it seems to only occur when I am in gear, in any gear. If the clutch is in or its in neutral it don't hear it. Any one else noticed the same thing? For a while I thought it was the A/C or fan, but then I noticed it goes away when its not in gear and turning the fan off doesn't seem to make a difference. I don't know if its really any issue or if I am just hyper-sensitive to my car.
What do you think? |
do you hear the clicking only when moving? and does the clicking get faster the faster you go?

check all the lines and near the wheels or rocks stuck in tire treads. people are also talking about clicking from the anti lock brakes adjusting but that wont get faster the faster you go. I say try with the stabili track and traction controll off and see if the noise is still there. just hold the button down till both lights appear on console.

It is without a doubt tied to engine rpms. Is it just the sound of the tranmission? Does anyone else with an SS notice it? Is it normal? It's not so much a click as a whirr maybe?

Yes... it is also discussed in this thread..http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29206
I only notice it when above 2k RPM..... sounds like its coming from the dash/glovebox area |
we had this the other night in our v6 a6 and it sounded like a piece of paper on something flapping around, hit the brakes and it went away. :iono:
