Cost to mount and balance tires?

Picked up my new 1LE last week. We are headed into colder months and while the car wont see snow, we get plenty of great driving well below 40 degrees. So i had the SC3's swapped out for DWS06Plus for the cold months.

The cost to mount and balance at the chevy dealer was $229 + tax. Is that standard or did i just get taken for a ride?

My local goodyear shop hits me for right at a hundred to dismount/mount my summer and winter tires. I think that that's reasonable. You might look if they did a road force balance, could have cost more than a simple balance job. Too, I had a dealer do a flat patch and charge me $50 something...lol, last time I ever did that. There's a dealer premium at just about every one of them.

$225 incl tax for mobile service to mount and balance 4 tires at my shop. Would have cost about $145 at a local chain store. Worth it to me this time not to have to drag the wheels and tires over there.

Id pay $225 for a mobile service and feel like I can trust them to do things right; scratches

Was yours the Vivid Orange I saw this afternoon at Baierl?

I think I paid ~$200 the last time I had a set mounted/balanced, but it varies. IIRC, the local Firestone was a bit less.

Last time I swapped out the GY for A/S tires for my '19 1LE, I had it done at my local Discount Tire, they charged me $20 per wheel (that was pre-covid).

The one near me now has a policy that you have to buy the tires from them or Tire Rack (which was bought by Discount Tire) to get that pricing otherwise it is around $250 for a set of 4! Several local places with touchless tire machines including a BMW dealership charge $50 per tire to mount/balance loose wheels/tires. Discount Tire and Firestone don't have touchless so there's a higher chance of scratches/damage if the tech is rushing and/or incompetent.

Firestone was the cheapest option near me for mounting tires plus balancing with a road force balancer at around $25 each for tires purchased outside of Discount Tire / Tire Rack but they took about 7 attempts to seat the bead on one tire (due to using an air hose with a maximum pressure that was too low) and scratched one of my wheels last time.

Well Discount Tire charges me 22.00 to mount and balance each tire and wheel. I am sure the dealership charges probably an hour and a half labor. Most dealerships are in the 145 to 150/hr labor rate. So what you paid is probably standard based on dealership pricing.

My local Firestone told me they couldn't fit the 1le rear wheels on their equipment... I'm guessing they're just jerks? Lol

$50 at Discount Tire

A lot of local tire dealers don't even want to mount 30 series tires.

Yes, I had it delivered last Saturday (bought it from a dealer near Hershey). Mine's a Summit White 2SS 1LE. It's currently having PPF and ceramic coating.
