front plate bracket dont drill solution

just got back from the dealer we were tring to figure out how to put the front plate bracket on with out drilling .we looked at the corvette they are put on with 2 face tape .so we are looking to do same thing here .there are four holes that sit flush to the bumber we are going to put two face 3m tape over them then we are going to drill 4 holes in the bracket itself and put tieties around the plastic in the bottom grill and the bracket.will take more suggestions .except the one that says dont put a plate on at all .the cops in newyork love to bust balls for no plate.thanks guys

where in NY are you from? I drive my Monte SS everyday with no plate on the front and never got any hassle about it.

Yea but after about 6 months the 2 sided tape on the corvettes dries out and the bracket falls off.

MR FBDY, did your monte COME with that front plate insert? i asked 2 dealers and they said only the corvette came with such a insert. i even tried ebay, but no luck.

I drive a Grand Prix in IL, which requires the front plate. I run the Pontiac cover in it's place. Been stopped twice, fined once. They can stop me again and again, I will never run a front plate on anything I own. Ranks right up there with the dumbest laws ever.

really don't know what the solution is. Maybe for lonf term worry free stability I need the holes??? I'll probably let the dealer do a permm install although I really hate the idea of an 18yo with a drill around my car, oh WTF. In NJ no front plate screams------:upset: pull me over!!!!!
