Gretchen Gets TT - Phase 1

Okay, the plan is to install mid-mount twin turbos. The shop will start work next week, but not finish until the second week in November. They will be taking a week off for SEMA and I'll be tied up a lot the first few days in November. We will be dyno tuning with Vince on 11/13 if everything goes well.

Here is the prelimary parts list:
Since the LT headers go past the little pockets we want to put them in, I'm going to take those off and put on some DT shorties.

We are shooting for 500+ HP at the crank, provided we can get fuel issues worked out with Vince. This setup should safely make that with no problem.

To minimize heat concerns with the exhaust they are going to ceramic coat everything up to the midpipes. I hope we've got all the math right so we do not put too much heat stress on them, but if not we may get some good xpipes later.

Right on pictures are good when you can but just keep us up to date on the install!! :) can't wait for more.

Will do. We are doing system conversions at work the next two weeks so I won't be in the shop much. They promise to take pictures, though and I'll post them as soon as I can.

This should be a great build. I've never heard of mid-mount turbos. Only top mount and remote mount. Can't wait to see pictures. Good luck!!! :chevy:

what kind of boost are you shooting for?

For phase 1 probably around 5-8 psi if we can get the fuel issues worked out. The injectors should handle more than what we are seeing with the factory settings, but it will probably take Vince a while to figure out how to adjust things like the pulse width and pressure.

SIXJAK, I'll even bring it by next time I'm in Branson.

Congrats on this build! It's going to be insane!! If I could add one piece of advice from my recent experience with my L99 TT - skip the shorty headers. You don't need to spend the money on them and they won't gain you any power. I had Kooks long tubes before my tt and we took them out for the install and are now using the stock manifolds. They move plenty of air, trust me!! My car dyno'd 545rwhp at 7psi with the Hellion kit.

PM me if you have any questions, I'm not an expert but would love to assist in any way I can. Thanks,

Adam

also, trade out your injectors for some ZR1 injectors or higher. i think you are going to need them but i didnt see you mention anything about getting them.
