Next Impala exposed in Camaro spy pics?

What are the chances that the white sedan on the far left is the next gen RWD Impala? It looks awful lot like some camoed pics of the Impala I saw on the web last year:

Can you just put the pic up instead of us downloading it?

Just go the the other thread and check out the pic he's talking about.

Personally, I think it could be the next Impala....at least the basis for it. I think it looks an awful lot like that Lumina SS that the Middle East gets. We've seen that floating around in another thread somewhere too.

It wouldn't be a surprise actually. I mean GM's already using the Holden platforms to build quite a few vehicles around the world (Holden, Vauxhaul, Chevy, Pontiac, Caddy, etc.) Why wouldn't they continue to do so. And, what better way to test a "new car" than hiding it under a current car's body? No one would think twice seeing a Holden roaming around down under, or a Lumina in the Middle East...but if that car is actually an Impala or a G8 or a "fill-in-the-blank", then it can be tested out in the open with no one being the wiser.

I wish they would bring the lumina ss over here. Make it a two door too. I would be fine with it if they called it an Impala.

With the new CAFE bill, I personally believe the Impala will continue to be FWD. I bet that's just another Commodore.

That's a Holden Caprice, also known as a Chevrolet Caprice in the Arab market. Apparently it's also on the Zeta chassis. It damn sure would be easy to import it over here as a new Impala. From my understanding it's a pretty expensive (40-70k) car to buy though.

Isn't it called the Ute? It's the aussies version of the El Camino.

Silverado 01-04-2008 07:42 AM

Yeah, it's the "Ute" over there. I don't know if it's been officially named here, but it's supposed to be the "sport truck" version of the G8, thus a Pontiac when it hits US shores.

DGthe3 01-04-2008 09:51 AM

The wagon is also a G8 (or international equiv)

Jak 01-04-2008 10:41 AM

Ahhh man, I'm getting annoyed here:mad0260: , there's so many hot looking GM cars coming out now, the G8, G8 Truck, ect and I can only get one  . The Camaro  .
