Cancelling Dodge Challenger For A New Cuda?
I read recently Dodge is thinking of stopping the Challenger because the Stang and Camaro are out selling it. They are thinking about bringing the Plymouth Barracuda out of mothballs to replace it. Anyone else hear anything on this?

Plymouth doesn't exist though?
So would it be a Dodge Barracuda? And wouldn't the Challenger be perfect as a Barracuda.. That's honestly what it should've been named from the start imho |
doesn't matter what they do. camaro and mustang are top dog

If you are a Mopar fan I would not cancel.....whatever replaces the Challenger is Not scheduled to have a Hemi.....rumor is it will be powered by a Fiat motor.

I've been reading a lot about the spy shots of the challenger in camo. The grill does look like a cuda. If they do change it the reason won't be because of sales, although more sales are always nice. The challenger/charger/300 all come down the same assembly line and the factory is more than busy enough with all three cars.
My guess would be that since fiat separated the SRTs into its own brand, thus the SRT viper/charger/challenger/300/grand Cherokee are no longer dodges/chrylers/jeeps, they are SRTs. The cuda being tested might be the SRT brand version of the challenger as a way to differentiate it from the dodge brand. |

Here is what they reported: Last January, we broke news that a new pony-musclecar would join the SRT Viper in the lineup. The SRT Barracuda won't necessitate revival of the Plymouth brand and will eventually replace the Dodge Challenger. The SRT Barracuda should appear by the 2015 model year, same as for the next-generation Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro, while the Challenger may live on into the 2017 model year. |
Chrysler said a couple months ago that the Dodge Challenger won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Good lord, I just lost about all my faith in Dodge! :confused0068: I hope you're wrong! OP, I don't see it happening at all. No way would Plymouth be brought back as a make. |
