For those with the 6 piston Brembos, Cheaper Brembo 2 Piece Rotor option

I found this on Rockauto.com.

Brembo now has their own aftermarket 2 piece ZL1 rotors. They look identical to their same 2 piece rotors they supply GM with.

I have purchased them and they have the same vent design, vane count and the same hat and fasteners The finish looks the same.

Prices sometimes change on RockAuto, but they are currently about $170 each, compared to the GM sourced Brembos at about $290. Also rockauto's inventory changes. As of 4/27/21 they only have the LF rotor. But shop around you can still find them for good prices.

It is possible that the cast iron is different, but everything else looks to be the same. As I mentioned, I have purchased a pair . I track my '14 1LE with the 6 piston front brakes and have no reservations with using these on track. They very well could be 100% identical but without the GM price surcharge.

Not sure yet, I have so much stuff that I should sell. Are you doing the DBA rings?

Thanks for the info, im saving this for when I pry open my wallet and finally swap to 6 pistons.
Question though, is there a 2 piece rotor option for those of us still on 4 pistons?
All i can find are the drilled and slotted stuff.

Yes, but they are out of stock and expensive.

For the money, the 6 piston setup is great.

Look to Racing Brake for 2 pc rotors possibly?

I have the RB rotors and love them. They're an expensive option but you drop like 40 lbs if memory serves of rotational mass for the full 4 rotor set. I have no regrets.

Thanks for the info. I ordered these Brembo rotors. Also picked up some 6th gen SS 1LE 6 piston calipers 172-2741 and 172-2742. It was tough to pass on the Corvette calipers with vented pistons, but since I have a 1LE I chose to stick with these. Can always swap the pistons later.

Just ordered everything from RockAuto 2 days ago, I went with the vented Z calipers tho. I'm glad I came across this post because I was unsure if these Brembos actually came with the hats, couldn't find out through RA.

I scored a set of 6th Gen 1LE upgrade rotors an just transferred them to a set of 5th Gen hats.

Quick update, I ran these Brembo brand rotors on track and IMHO they worked just as well as the GM/Brembo rotors.

Looks like Brembos website price on these went way up but they are still a fair price on rockauto

EDIT, well rockauto's price on the GM/Brembos are cheaper, lol. Oh well, I bought them at a good time!
