General Motors will launch electrified versions of its Chevrolet Corvette sports car starting next year, GM President Mark Reuss said Monday.

Reuss told CNBC that GM will launch an "electrified" version of the Corvette in 2023, followed by a fully electric version later.

The all-electric Corvette will be powered by GM's proprietary Ultium battery platform.

4500 is probably generous. Interested to see how it performs though. The C8 already had worse roadholding and braking performance than the C7.

i hope to never be forced to have a electric car. i firmly believe they will prove to be worse for the environment than internal combustion.
everyone should watch the documentary "planet of the humans".

Naw it won't be 4500 lbs. But 4000 sure. It's going to be a low-capacity performance oriented single motor hybrid for the front wheels only. It'll take a tenth or two off 0-60 and 1/4 mile and maybe give an extra 5 or so mpg in town. Cost ya $50k more, and be even more unicorn than the c8 already is.

Yet still, I'm intrigued

The Hybrid...sure, but the all Electric version...definitely over 4,000 lbs. If it ends up with 3 motors, then I'd guess over 4,500 lbs.
