Help with tire brand on my 2010 2SS
1 Attachment(s)
hi everyone
I’m looking for a reasonably priced staggered set for my 2010 Camaro SS. 245/45/20 and 275/4/20 Just looking for a smooth riding tire Thx for the help. |
I had bfg sport comp 2’s in the oe sizes on my old SS and got good tire mileage and performance out of them. The definitely hooked up better in cooler weather than the original p zeros on my current car.

Michellin has smooth ride.

I went with the Continentals DWS06 plus. No complaints. I used the link on this forum to order from Tire Rack. They support the forum.

Michelin Pilot 4S. Prior to that Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

I went with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s and am happy with them. Way better than the stock Pirellis imo.
In the winter I have a separate setup with Bridgestone Blizzaks which work well. |
I ran Continental Extreme Contact's for 13 years now, love them! I run Michelin Pilots Sports on the rear now because they were the only company that had a 335/30/20 tire for my wide wheels. Love them too.

If you're just looking for a good road tire, the '12 ss I bought last summer had a set of Toyo Extensa tires on it and they rode/drove well. They are a 500tw tire but did OK in all but aggressive acceleration and handling situations.
If you want a true performance tire, those listed above are your best bets. |
Another vote for the Continental DWS06 if your looking for an all season. I loved those tires and still have them on my stock wheels whenever I run them. I run them on my brothers G8, and 2 of my friends mustangs also. Just a great tire.

Pilot Sport 4 S is my tire of choice. They have an excellent reputation for a reason.
|
I have Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s on my car and have been rather pleased with them. They have a nice ride, and when warmed up they stick decently well.
|
I second the Firestone Firehawk. Great tire. They are a Extreme performance summer tire so no good when the temp goes down. My car goes into hibernation in the winter
