Blackstone report

1 Attachment(s)
Just got my blackstone oil report back. Any of you guys with more knowledge than me. Break down this report for me. Should i be concerned with the Iron in the oil? It did have about 15 dyno pulls and some summer driving on her. The oil did sit in the pan all winter before i sent a sample.

I'm not a Blackstone expert, unless we are talking gridles....

That being said, high iron after storage isn't uncommon due to condensation causing "rust", and being cycled into the oil. I wouldn't be concerned unless there is other symptoms of a problem...

That’s what I’m thinking. I’ll make sure to send in another sample before winter this time and see what the report says.

How long did it take for you to get your report?
After buying a 2014 1LE, with 105000 miles on a very clean car I decided to send in to see the condition of my motor. And I am anxiously waiting for a report.

Iron doesnt seem out of line. I'm curious why you have so much moly though.
I use a filter cutter and inspect my pleats as part of my sample routine.

maybe there is a lot of moly in the ls driven oil. its a common additive in oil for lubrication. i also cut my filters and look at the pleats. nothing out of the normal.

Yea, I was just curious on the moly. I figured it was an additive or something.
Nothing in yourt pleats is a good sign. Probably just cylinder wall wear as said previously.

I had an oil lab tell me my oil wasnt getting changed enough when I sent them brand new oil! Go figure. I'm not using them anymore. I have Blackstone next time around.
