I bought my last one with 128k miles. Nothing wrong with that. But I did use a different engine though. But I did buy my first one with 150k in it was like new inside still.

Sounds like you could possibly have a bad solenoid on the starter. I would take the starter off and have it tested at your local parts store.

When I pulled mine I just unbolted the ac compressor and left it in the engine bay but it's a little bit harder bolting it back in but that's the way I did it.

Yes timing cover. And yeah I would get the set. And just in case you don't know there is two bolts that go form the oil pan to the timing cover that are a pain to get to.
