Unless you are planning to keep it garaged for 30 years, and turn it into a real collector car, the low vin doesn't mean much. If you go to resell this car in the next few years with 80000 miles on it, then you won't get anymore for it because of the low vin. You also won't get any less because it has been repainted. If you can wait, get a new car, if you can't get it repainted. There arn't many pros/cons to either direction other than time. I would personally just get it repainted especially if you can get it custom! The low vin is more nostalgia.
