Color me impressed. Took my 2.0t to the drag strip.
I've been seeing a couple reviews now saying the 2.0t (manual) 1/4 mile time is a 13.9 @ 101, auto (w/ 18" wheels) will run a 14.0 @ 99. I think GM says 14.0 either way?
There still isn't a whole lot of reviews out there yet with "official" 1/4 mile times to go off of. What I never got about these claims because it's rarely specified, is are these DA corrected times, or just happen to be at tracks with good air? My local track generally has crap air, typically 2000-6000 DA always. I figured with that issue, plus I have the 20" wheels, I was thinking 14.3-14.5ish realistically. Long story short, I showed up at about a 2100 DA, cranked out a 14.169 @ 96.31 Only got 4 passes because the track kept getting fluids pissed all over it and they finally just shut down Last pass, 14.022 @ 96.35 DA 1426 I'm pretty impressed. Bone stock on 20s in kinda crappy air (although 1426 is the best I've ever seen it here so it was a good day to go) I also had 3/4 tank of fuel and about 20lbs of junk I didn't need in the car. So about 80lbs I didn't need with me? Race weight was appx 3820 with me in the car. It's got a 13.9x hero pass in it stock, just ditch half the tank of fuel and the extra junk in the car. Ditch the 20s and it should run 13.8 all day long with no mods except lighter wheels & tires. I'm pretty happy! BTW only 880 Miles on the car. That's pretty stout, right in line with what the stronger 3.23 geared auto or six speed LT1 cars were running stock. Faster than any of the older Tuned Port Injection third gen cars.

Right in line with what it should be. Is it an A8?

If the track was operational a little bit longer, you would have hit 13's easily. You'll hit it next time

30 years ago I was running my modified '77 TA (cam, exhaust, intake) and with my street tires the best I ever got was a 14.45 et. They have come a long, long way for sure. I'd drive a T4 for sure!

Best I ever got with my V6 Mustang with an automatic was 14.99 at 93.99 MPH. Your times are very impressive.

You could get a 13.7 if you worked on the 60-ft and ran the car with a 1/4 tank or less os gas.

Yes, it's an A8, just drove it in sport mode and let it shift

That is great times for the 2.0 My 1984 Z28 did 86 MPH in the 1/4 LOL. Soon they will have mods to bump the 2.0 to 300 to 325 HP than watch out. Going to order 6 speed 2.0 a 2LT RS with performance package soon. What color is your car. Looks great and I bet you paid 20 grand less than a V8 1SS. Last edited by Ace01; 06-11-2016 at 11:26 AM. |

That's pretty impressive times even with all the extra baggage! Glad that you're able to replicate and better what GM says it can.

Great run. All 3 engines are fantastic for these cars. I'm envious of the curb weight those 2.0Ts have. I think they're lighter than Corvettes now? Definitely close.
