Those of you with cams, how do you like it?

I'm going to be having a cam install from a local shop for 1500 with everything needed for the swap and my choice of cam

What kind of cam did you get?

how much did you put down to the wheels?

What other mods do you have?

Is it worth voiding the warranty?

i would go with a full exhaust , intake and cam. not just a cam alone. and yes cams are worth it.

I'm glad I did it. I will be getting a tune this week so it should be really nice. As far as mods: vararam tune intake, Kooks 1 3/4 long tubes, with hi-flow cats, stock catback exhaust, LG6X3 cam. We'll be working on the tune Monday, so the car should be really nice to drive by weeks end. I'll let you know what the car picked up with the cam. And to you're final question, yes it's worth it. You've had your car for a while so if it hasn't broke yet you should be fine.

Nothing like the sound of a cammed car. As you can see from my signature I have gone the cam route plus other mods. Supercharger and heads are coming very soon.
Definitely do the cam.

A cam is most definitely worth it. I gained about 40rwhp and some wonderful music to my ears. We got one custom ground, dual springs and hardened push rods. All for less than 1,500 with the tune and all.

Warranty, shmarranty. If my biggest concern was having a warranty, I'd be driving a Toyota still. This car is about having fun and tinkering.

You''ll love the taller cam power and the engine lope. Don't worry about the surging at low revs; driving around that effect will come naturally to ya'.

If you have an L99 that is probably about right, if you have an LS3 that is to much.

My goal when i first got my camaro was to ge it to sound sick. So i did the exhaust with headers and a cai while i was there. Then I did the cam. I got a sick supercharger cam so i can just add a supercharger down the road. I went from 425 at the flywheel to 550 after the cam. That includes a good tune for al lthe other add ons as well. There is nothing like sitting at a red light and your car rumbles.

Then eventually that was not enough so i got a supercharger and now i am sitting at 700 at the flywheel. its sick
