First impressions, CAI intake, Hurst shifter

I finally got back on the road Sunday for a shakedown drive after a winter of being under the hood reorganizing the engine plumbing and some other mods.

Cold Air Inductions intake.
I was extremely pleased with the installation, fit and appearance of this piece. I could not be happier with the results during my first drive. My first aggressive push of the accelerator surprised me with instant throttle response and a nice push back into the seat. Even more impressive was the sound! It is like a whole new beast now. I did not find a good place to spin it up to redline, but I can't wait until I get the chance. It is clear that there is an improvement in power, and with the sound that is now present, I don't see any gain in mileage as It will be hard to drive normally away from any stop lights or signs.

Hurst Billett aftermarket shifter.
The feel of this shifter is amazing. It is solid with a nice short throw (almost unbelievably short). It has a more mecanical feel than the stock shifter which see as a plus. The one - two shift is very easy with that nice click-click feel. I did get in a couple of quick 4000-4500 shifts without a hint of a grind. Full power shifts have not been evaluated yet, but I can say that the installation of the Hurst does not coinside with a second gear grind. The two - three shift is even better, just push, shove or slam it forward and you are there, don't even have to think about the gate as it is now narrower than before. The rest of the gear changes are nice and short as you would expect. Only reverse feels like it does not fuly engage, but that was normal with the factory shifter too.

One other thing, I did not use the noise reduction kit and it is completely silent. Not a squeak or rattle.
