Question Front end issue

Any one else have an issue where the rubber strip under the front fascia broke off? My wife hit a piece of cardboard at highway speed and the bolts that hold the strip on broke off. Dealer says they are break away bolts to prevent damage to the fascia. Any one?

I think I have a problem with mine as well. Everytime I back out of the driveway something around that area rubs a bit. Hasn't hurt the front at all yet so I'll have to wait and see if anything goes wrong.

Probably a good thing they are breakaway, though. I've rubbed mine over parking blocks...nothing broke...but the "give" in the front fascia is a good thing, and the strip helps it not get all glitched up...If it were to snag, I'd rather it be on the strip and have that breakaway instead of the fascia ripping up...

Yeah I ran over something small and mine came off. Thing is those breakaway bolts rip holes in the fascia

I hit a tire doing 80 and ripped mine off yesterday. It ripped all those breakaway bolts off and the air deflector. I priced the damage. The deflector is the cheap part, those breakaway bolts with nuts is what will run the tab up. Looking at around 150.00 to replace through gmpartshouse.com

awhile ago i was going to my gf's house and let her drive... doing 80 on the interstate i noticed some shreds from a blown tire on the road.... well she must not of seen them and hit them head on. ripping the deflector off... temporary fix until replaced the bolts... like infernometallicSS said... the bolts with nuts will definatly run the tab up.... needless to say she hasn't driven the Camaro since

If the bolts are expensive from the dealer, I wonder if there isn't a better replacement available from another supplier, if they are not that specialized of an item....

I torqued mine off in my girlfriends driveway because it's an un-even piece of ----, and then spent 15 minutes on my back on the side of the highway unscrewing the rest with a quarter.
