Pulling wrap faded paint underneath?
Been considering pulling wrap for a while now...
Question for removing the hood wrap, I have a black 2014 1le in Fla its a year and half old and garage kept, not my DD. If I pull the wrap will the paint be different shade than the rest of the car? I was planning on having dark grey ghost rally stripes painted on the hood Last edited by street-ride; 10-11-2015 at 10:21 AM. |

Why would the paint fade when it's covered by the wrap? If anything it would be the reverse, the paint on other parts of car would be faded and the hood looks new.

I had a friend who pulled his stripes off that were 3 years old and there was no fade. But the paint looked "newer" underneath. Did a good polish and it was fine.

I pulled the wrap off my 14 a little over a month ago because it was scratched up and had these 3 oily finger prints on it that I couldn't get off. Looked fine.
It was cool not having the wrap for about a month. It's just not the same without it though. I had it re-wrapped last weekend. I appreciate the wrap a lot more now. |
