New White SS Singing the Factory Paint Blues.....
Howdy all, checking in from central Minnesota with new summit white 2SS Camaro with M6, MRC, NPP, and Navigation.
Unfortunately the car is at the dealership now going over paint issues similar to what Sledgehammer70 went through. Dealership believes most spots should buff out but the spots in the paint look like something under the clear coat similar to picture attached of sledgehammer70's white camaro. Also found hazing in the hood and fine scratches everywhere in the paint and one spot of uneven clear coat application or where someone tried to buff the paint and burnt through. I will post pics soon for everyone to see and hope to get some opinions as well, either way starting to make me really question the quality control at Chevy but hopeful this will be handled correctly. I mean to me paint is the most important physical attribute on a performance car like the Camaro and when you spend $40K plus on a new ride these shouldn't even be issues to start with. Else been loving the cars power, how it handles, and yes even the gas mileage (came from a lifted/heavily modded 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited). Well hope to meet some local members and learn a wealth of knowledge as I mod and customize the ride when everything gets squared out with the paint. Like I said pictures to follow... |

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Welcome. Regarding the paint, it will take at least 6 to 8 weeks to cure which means do not wash it. It will be difficult and as you count the days, collect car care goods (if you haven't already).
