Hello C5'ers just wanted to share what our Norther Virginia Pohanka Chevy is trying to pull. This is a bit insane. Here is the email I got from the salesman...

"As I mentioned before we are getting 3 over the course of 2012 and would like to offer the you the first we get. My GM told me we are going to be 25K over sticker on each one as he expects they will be sold before they arrive just like the ZR1 did. If you would like to guarantee the first we are going to start taking 5k deposits with you."

You know the worst thing is I went to school and was best friends with the pohanka grand children... They still wanted to charge 10k adm on the 2010 SS when they first were released ... I laughed told
My friend and went to
Maryland and got it for MSRP !

When the ZR1 first came out we had locator services willing to pay 5 to 10K over MSRP so they could resell at 10 to 20K over MSRP.

I sold all three we received at MSRP to my customers.

Do not give out that email address. Even though we don't agree with the practice of overcharging insane amounts of money for the ZL-1, that does not give us the right to write or spam this dealership with complaints.

Simple solution, DON'T BUY FROM THEM. Let someone that has a stupid amount of money make that mistake.

You know - it'd be one thing if GM were only making a limited amount (well - they are for '12, but that's it), but to mark it probably close to half?!!! Thanks for posting. Hopefully - those sit on their lot until they bring the price something close to reasonable... WOW!

agreed, I wont share the email address. And yes, I'm hoping those sit as well until they learn their lesson. If you live in this area, even if you're loaded, hold off, don't buy at those horrible markups.
