Did a bit of work on my car and...

So I started to take apart my front end to do some work on the Calipers and install an air scoop. After lifting the car up to remove the tires etc... Now after finishing up the car sits about 1.5" taller...

I assume this is because the shocks and springs decompressed and need to settle back in?... but after 12 hours it still is sitting high.

thoughts?

Sorry I am new to this front end work and honestly am noticing a lot of things now that I want to drop the car with new springs.

I would check and see if the springs are seated properly in their perches first.

Considering I have not touched the springs yet, they shouldn't have come out of their mounts.

No they can sometimes when its at full droop. And that would be the most likely thing to cause it to sit high like that.

Move the car forward and back a few feet and it will settle back down to where it should be. Its normal.

I'm with Synner. It seems like they may have rotated out of the pocket some how.

What other work did you do when you had it lifted? Did you loosen and tighten the control arm bolts while the suspension was at full droop? If you did you might need to re-clock the bushings but 1.5" seems like alot more than a bushing issue

+1

But if you moved it and it's still high... begin to check other things as suggested.

I only took the calipers off the breaks. along with taking the tire off.

I just drove the car around for a good 15 minutes. Made sure to get some speed bumps and dips etc... car runs fine, and it has come down some, still about 1/2" higher than it was before. (I only know this as I had measured the car before I did any work.)
