SS versus a Mini.

I've got a buddy that used to have a big pimped out GT. Did lots of mods, and it definitely had some power behind it (I don't know any numbers, but that's not the point of this post). Some things came up in his life and he had to sell the Mustang and now he has a Mini. He's all about it for whatever reason, and to each his own, but it's not my thing. Anyway, he has been claiming that his Mini destroys any V8 Camaro, SS and ZL1. And he said he also kills Corvettes and basically anything else with 4 wheels and a big engine. He claims his Mini has 400whp and weighs practically nothing (that's true, at least).

So is anybody out there with an SS, 1LE or ZL1 losing to Minis on the track?

Is he one of those that takes each mods HP and does simple math instead of actually having it dyno'd? (Exhaust 10hp, Tune 25hp, CAI 10hp = 45hp). I can't see it beating any of those listed so I personally think he's blowing smoke.

Take him to the track. If he's right, then that Mini is worthy of a lot of respect. If he's wrong, then you can deflate his ego publicly.

I'm pretty sure it's not turbocharged. Has some mods though.

Doesn't matter if its turbo'd, shpank him. If it's a new Cooper S it is t/c, if it's an older one it's s/c. 1.6L and 200hp on a good day stock or close to it.

isn't "big pimped out mini" an oxymoron?

S/C and you destroy him. They are getting some of the turbo ones to around 340+whp, so that would be closer. You should still have it though unless he's real good.

If he's right and it makes 400 hp then you'll be in for a butt hurting. But if he's just got a big mouth then it should make for a fun time.
