468 big block motor swap
I’ve been having major problems with my 45,000 mile lt1 motor in my 2017 camaro ss and i have tried everything to fix it but it never works. Im getting tired of trying to fix it just to not make the hp i want. My question is, i have a 468 big block sitting around and im trying to see if anyone has done the swap before and if its worth it or should i just do it and be different? I wanna make big hp numbers and i just cant keep justifying fixing the lt1 when im not gonna hit my wanted numbers. I know im gonna get the sarcastic good lucks and the doubters but i really wanna be a front runner for the craziest 6th gen camaro builds.

I had problems with it building too much crankcase pressure and dumping oil since i got it stock. Went through the whole motor put all new pistons and rings, went full bolt on, and finally got it tuned. First test hit it did the same thing and started misfiring. As it sits its full bolt on but im just done throwing money into this motor and the big block swap is looking alot more enticing.

I’d talk to Copo about mounting the big block. They are now offering the 632ci in 6th gens

you're going to need a lot more motor than 468" unless you plan on filling it and pushing 50 lbs thru it.

If you think you have problems now you wait till you try swapping in a BBC. Have you thought about even the costs of this swap. All the electronic issues, nothing is going to work in the swap, the ECU, TCM, BCM. Take it somewhere and have them figure out what's going on because your gonna open up a can of worms you won't want to eat. COPO is not going to be able to help you, remember those cars don't have a VIN, aren't street legal and have the chassis reworked on them, they run off a Holley system, etc. I'm telling you that you shouldn't even attempt it. Sell your car and start over or as I stated above find out how to fix what you have. Good luck sir

I would save the 468 for a resto rod or street rod and sort out the issues with your LT1 is my advice. Like Laynlo replied, you will open up a big can of worms if you try and put that big block in.

But what is so different about putting this big block in compared to when copo does it with the 632? I figured if they can do it it has to be possible.

Very sure, n/a on both mod for mod 468 is for sure gonna make more power. It was a spare motor for one of my bosses race cars so i already know what its capable of and i just cant see dumping way more money into the lt1 just to always want more

I’m at 1100+ HP on an LT1. It’s capable of making as much power as you want and the car will be faster than it would with a giant big block up front.
