Clueless on tire/wheel fitment options for 2020 LT1 ( 20" wheels w/ 245's run flats )
Just join the Camaro crew in April. I purchased an 2020 LT1. Of course you all know, it comes with stock 20" wheels w/ 245 run-flats. I do not mind the run-flats now. But, I want to start saving for bigger wheels and/or tires.
My questions are: - What fitment options do I have currently without needing modifications? - The stock tires are 245's I believe. Can I go with a larger size now? - If I go with 305's, I heard there is a wiring harness issue in the rear, you must take care of first. Is this true with the 2020's? Much appreciated! 2020 LT1 tells us nothing about the diameter and width of the wheels that you have. The range of tires sizes is based on that. On the width of a wheel you can really go up ~two sizes, safely. 245 > 255 > 265. Wheel widths specify tire width's that are appropriate or "safe".
If you have a wheel with a 245 on it you cannot put a 305 on it. |

Thank you for the information. My fault for being vague.
20" wheels w/ 245's square set-up All-season run flats, is what I have currently. |

Typical size situation a 245 tire mounts to a 9.5" wheel, I would assume that that's what you've got for an OE setup. With a 9.5" wide wheel you can go up to 255 or 265, 275 would be the max recommended tire width for that wheel.
