AWE Track Cat back Exhaust

I am looking at getting the AWE track cat back and was curious about the drone since I asked one guy and he said there is no drone but wanted to see if anyone else also has the same opinion. Don’t need something with no drone just want to find something that sounds nice and has some nice pops but doesn’t have to crazy drone.

It's essentially a straight pipe muffler delete exhaust with good looking 4" tips.

It will drone.

You can also consider the MBRP axle back which is also essentially a muffler delete with an added helmholtz resonator section.

I did the AWE track cat back when my car was still stock… it definitely drones. Cruising at 80 mph (manual trans) it sits a like 2k rpm and any load going up a hill or something produces a VERY loud drone.

Get the AWE Touring axel back, it will not drone. I had headers with a 3 inch x pipe added. All the catalytic converters removed with the AWE axel back. was too loud. Put the stock x pipe back on and added 10 inch resonators where the crush sections were and it is back to a sound level I can handle now.

I love AWE quality but the Track edition is just another overpriced muffler delete. Get the touring edition, its my favorite sound for these cars and I have 0 regrets with it. No drone at all, and beautiful muscle car sound.

Yep most any of the track models are just muffler deletes. I can attest to MBRP's resonator though, it works. I have that same style on my ZL1 but it's in the (cheaper) black, not stainless.

I have the AWE track edition at the time I added the AWE secondary cat delete pipes and it definitely drones on the highway, to the point where you can't even have a conversation in the car or use the bluetooth to make a phone call...
Obviously it has only gotten worse adding the Kooks headers, but my car is more of a track only car that I tow to the track. I only drive it maybe once a month on the streets so it is bearable. If it was a daily I wouldn't be able to handle it.

Going cat less with headers made my car sound like a straight piped squatted truck, and I am way too old for that crap Had to make some adjustments. Bauss at least with your headers there is an option to buy test pipes that will connect to your stock x pipe with the secondary cats on them.

I have the axle back version. There is a bit of drone, but with that amazing level of exhaust note, who cares...LOL

AWE track is a muffler delete. It does drone at certain rpms going up hill. I love how I have the heavy metal blasting and I can rip around and still hear the nasty exhaust. It also looks much cleaner up there with no mufflers. Saves only 10-12lbs surprisingly over my stock NON-NPP suitcase but at least it's something, if you're counting. Honestly, if I was afraid of drone I would leave it stock. My LT1 is my fun car. 100% pleasure. Hell on wheels. Bring on the drone. When I go to work, kids need to go somewhere or I want to have a conversation (LOL)...I'll be in the Honda

I have the AWE axel back touring and it’s loud as hell. Wakes my neighbors up and does the popping on decel. I can’t imagine how lout the track version is. You won’t be disappointed with touring and zero drone.
