Good to hear from you Steve.... when will we SEE you! You should make the Adams detailing event on 2/20/13 for CCOTR..... posted on "Camaro Club of the Rockies" page on FB - I'll even bring my sunglasses to look under your hood Thanks again for pulling strings to get me the original front ground effects splitter!

There are a few folks around the forums that have them but haven't seen anyone here in CO using them to attest to them working though the emission test stations. Moving right along, a couple of tuning shops provided several suggestions: (1) to have a removable cats to install for emissions, program an emissions friendly tune then remove and insert an open pipe, and retune, or (2) use a toned down tune (and don't go radical with a cam). Again, I haven't seen anyone around CO that has said either has worked. Why the Kooks fella said that might be to try and state compliance of the cats designed specs to work within an emission required area. I am not one of "they" who knows - so if you learn something useful - please share.
This is the route I'll be taking next year when emissions are needed. Didn't have to do it this year, since getting specialty plate threw the calendar off and only had 3 years 9 months at renewal time.

I had the Longmont emissions testing location run it 2 years ago with the following setup (after a long talk with the manager about their liability and about just being test run for info):

TVS2300 @ 11.5 PSI, Doug Thorley shorty headers, factory cats, 65 lbs fuel injectors, Corsa exhaust, ported heads, ZR1 cam. PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS.

I'm a bit different now with 105mm throttle body, 1000 cc injectors, no cats (since they just blow out), ARH 2" primary long tube headers, GT9 cam, 15 lbs boost and hi-flow ARH cats waiting on the garage shelf. Plan is to run a 2nd (or 3rd) tune, install the cats, run it. Then flash tune back and pull cats back off before they get ruined. Cats are even ceramic coated (accident by ARH). I don't anticipate any problems with a special tune.... I'd almost like to try it without it, pull around the corner and reflash, then pull back up - not sure if creating a flagged run that would draw attention would be bad. I did ask him about long tube headers with cats and he said no problem.

So many possibilities.

Save the money and get a used, beater RS. You will prob use your own motor, trans and rear end anyway, so why pay for a mail-slot, stereo and leather? Less brake clearance issues with wheels too. Just my $.02.

I saw a post on FB from Camaro Scotty Tues or yesterday saying the Z28 was going to go for just under $63,000. Guess that's what the dealerships are being told at this point.

I think I'd have to see the color in person... so many that don't look good on Google searches look fantastic in person.

I saw on the way home from Fort Collins in a little hole in the wall a 67/68 Camaro. needs work and I'm not sure if it's for sale but if anyone's interested I'd stop and ask.
