test drive and tire pressure

I am posting to the tire and wheel info to ask what is the recommended pressure for the tires?

I am looking for the factory spec (on the door)?

and the max pressure rating on the tire itself?

I have test driven 3 different 1LE's, a 2013 with 2500 miles, a 2014 with 25 miles, and a 2014 with 2408 miles. I was interested that all three felt a little different, and I was wondering if that difference was the tire pressure? I read through all 6 pages of this topic, and I cannot find any post discussing the tire pressure. I am looking for the pressure when driving on the street.

Thanks,

Dave

Max pressure is 51#. I bet your right about the differences being tire pressure. Mine were all over the place when I picked it up from the dealer.

I would say tire pressure too. When I first got mine the pressure was high 30's and would get into the low 40's when hot. It was miserable and felt like a stage coach. It would be fine for a track day but horrible for DD. I keep it around 30 cold and they get to about 34 hot. More comfortable for DD.

Anybody heard are the tires the Goodyear Supercars still not supposed to be left in temps below 20 % Fahrenheit. It's said they crack on the sides. Has that been corrected? Or do I need to replace them before winter storage. I don't have a heated garage. And we get some cold weather in Minnesota.

Yeah no go for the cold it's not something that will get corrected. They are Summer tires and have no business in the cold. Get close to 40* and they start getting skittish. Bright side they will wear out before 10K miles and you can get something else.

I like my Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Much more reasonable tire and nice and grippy. It did cost me $1750 mounted, balance and aligned though...

Yes just referring to the rear tires. Planning on keeping the rear 285 for front spares as they only have 600kms on them.

I just like the looks of a wider tire, no real good justification.

The key to the performance of the 1LE and the Z/28 is running a square tire setup. Changing the rear tire to a 305 will upset the balance of the car and result in more understeer. The 1LE becomes an SS with a wider rear wheel.
