AFAIK, it's not just the cooling effect, but the fact that the fuel doesn't need to be there until you're ready to ignite it anyway.

Who has some higher mileage, say 5-7000 miles. What is your avg miles per gallon.
Still want a V6, just want to know if anyone is hitting the EPA 29 for Highway. Also do you have a auto or stick? Plan on having this as a daily driver. 120 miles round trip per day, 6 days a week. |

With my car, I can say that at 60mph of pure freeway driving I get 28.9mpg over a 60 mile stretch in 6th gear. When I did the same thing at 70mph on the same stretch of road in 6th gear, I was at 25.6mpg.

Probably true for those that live up north but I'm in Houston. My MPG numbers have been pretty consistent since I picked up the car in July. Check out the link in my sig to my journal. It contains MPG tracking since day 1 in post #5.

Thanks, not much over 22mpg? Is your Highway driving stop and go rush hour type stuff? My commute is 40% backroads, just 3 traffic lights, then Highway at 65mph to 80 mph speeds. |

I've only run 3/4 tank of gas through ours, and it got 25 mpg. just over 330 miles on it now.

How do you like the HID lights? Is it worth it to step up to the RS package?
I was rethinking and thought about just a base LS model, 6 speed manual. |

Well I just went over 17K miles and was doing pretty good with an average of 26 MPG, 10 miles back roads 45-60 mph, 2 miles and 4 stops then 5 more miles of back roads 35-60 mph then two lights then the freeway for about 50 miles running around 70-75 mph then about 10 miles of some urban back roads 4-5 lights and speeds around 35-55 MPH. I have a manual and shift on average around 2500rpm I try to do it before 2000 it seems to make a big differences but it's to fun to do that. I had a drop here in late Nov early Dec to 21.5 MPG so that's probably the gas. I was running Shell Mid-grade and recently have been running BP Mid-grade. If I reset on the highway it still gets pretty close to 29 it's been awhile since I reset it maybe tomorrow I'll do that.
I have some lame videos up on http://www.youtube.com/rapture89 of the MPG...

I love the HID lights. But I actually like the entire RS package. It's hard to beat what you get for the price. I considered getting an LS but by the time I priced some of the mods I would have done to it [new 20" wheels/tires, spoiler, rally stripes], I was over the price of the RS package so I just got the 1LT instead so I could add the RS package. Besides, then I could also get the audio upgrade and the C&C package too!
