We have the exact same car/color and I'm about 30 mins from Rancho. Maybe I'll see you around one day, would love to hear it in person! Car looks great! I'm looking to do about 30% tint, black bowties, Borla Atak axle back and have my sound guy upgrade this awful stereo system haha.

Any recommendations on my first oil change? I'm at 1,200 miles and it seems most are changing at 1,500. Just go to my local chevy dealer? They said first 3 are free, but I don't want junk oil.

I just rolled 1700 miles. I will be switching to Amsoil, like I have for every other car I have ever owned. I ran Amsoil when I was racing midgets as a kid. The oil was so good we found that we could run the crankcase practically empty and get a few hundred more RPM out of it. After 4 regional championships, I was a believer.

So you have 1700 on the factory fill oil?

Mines coming in the next few weeks or so when I hit 1000. I think 500 is too soon, 1500 is too late...meh, who knows lol.

I dont buy into it being some black magic science. I will change it when the oil comes in, whenever that may be

I driven every new car I have ever had the same way. 2500 miles roughly, change the oil over to full syn, and let her rip. I typically do oil analysis the first few changes to see what dictates my change intervals. Im a true believer in synthetic oil and extended drain intervals, especially on a street car. Dinosaur oil is truly a thing of the past.

Yes, good modern full synthetics are fantastic, and very important on DI engines. All I have ever used is Amsoil and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. I only do about 3000 miles a year, so once the first oil change is done, I will do once a year changes. Probably total overkill at only 3000 miles, a year or not, but I like the piece of mind and once a year is easy to remember lol...

Well its good regardless to do it yearly. Keeps any moisture out of the oil. Water and oil have never tended to work well together ! lol

Still no news on that noise. I think its the DI!

Yeah I am kinda starting to agree, but I mean they couldn't make it sound better than that! Or insulate it? It's so minor, and only on a total cold start, but I am so anal about it, I can't miss it lol.

You see my last post in the thread on that I started? I tried a few things...
