There is something to be said of being the 'first person in the neighbourhood' driving a sexy car -- you're not buying a Camaro for the fuel economy, practical interior space, or total cost of ownership. You're buying a camaro to appreciate performance, design, and cultural appeal.

If he's looking for a practical replacement for his passat, he can buy...another passat, preferably 2-3 years old that has depreciated.

PS Not sure 100,000 camaros will be produced in the next year, probably not even in 2-3 years IMHO. would be pleased to be proven wrong, but given the economy + GM's situation + niche brand in a competitive segment, it would be hard to hit those numbers. Mustangs did, but primarily because there were no Challengers or Camaros to compete with during boom economic times in recent years.

Dealer here has black LT1 demo for ~$29K w/ ~750 miles..WTF? Sounds like a USED car to me..

I can't find a car around here for MSRP some are 5K over some are 10K over

it ultimately comes down to your preference. Does it have what you want or missing some things? Local dealer is selling their 1LT V6 RS for roughly $28,700 so I think that you are getting a good deal. Good luck with whatever you decide

I wish I could swing this with DeNooyer if my truck is furked over beyond help. Doubt Encompass will give me that much due to the truck being a 2001.. X(

It has everything I want on it (remote start, bluetooth, xm, power everything)

The hesitation is with my wife. She agrees that the price is good, but I have a 5 month old son and she doesn't like that its a 2 door despite the fact that she has a brand new Traverse and ever since we got that car he hasn't ridden in the passat once.
