- Concrete Pad - 6" recommended between outside edge of base plate and concrete edge
- what minimum lb lift capacity is needed
- 4 post or 2 post
- bolt down or free standing
- has lift been independently tested? If so, what load is approved vs tested?
- is quality structural steel used rather than mild diamond plate that looks nice?
- what size is the motor?
- consider a 220v motor over a 110v motor for faster lifting
- what kind of column sliders are used - (enclosed or external?
- how is the load spread
- do pulleys use fixed bearings instead or roller bearings?
- does it use cables or chains
- how are locks engaged or disengaged - manual or with air pressure
- is an air supply required?
- hydraulic fluid should be standard 10 weight, non-foaming, non-detergent
- where is it manufactured - US or foreign
- do they deliver to homes or must you arrange pickup from a shipping terminal?
- how will drive-on ramps handle lowered cars?
- what are all dimensions?
- options: jack bridge, casters, drip pans, key operated, aluminum drive-on ramps
- other tools: oil drain, transmission jack, tall jack stands

Great information. Thanks! Do you know how much the lift and lift related items cost to add to your building?

Mike
I bought the following 12/30/04
- 2,240 Bend-Pak HD-9 4 post lift
- 570 two jack trays (only use one sometimes)
- 200 optional key operated motor (waste of money)
- 199 optional caster kit (needed to move list around)
- 189 optional air/electric station (used little so far)
- 129 oil drain container (no longer used since it was a cheap unit and a pain to manually drain)
- 89 two galvanized drip trays (I haven't seen these in awhile, hmm)
- 45 freight

I don't think they would ship the lift to a residential address, so we had to take a flatbed trailer to a shipping hub near Columbus to pick it up. We assembled/installed it ourselves using an engine hoist for the heavy pieces.

In 2009, I bought a much nicer oil drain container by John Dow Industries for $434.

In 2010, I bought a bridge jack specifically for the Bend-Pak lift for $1,255. (Bend-Pak pissed me off here. The first jack they sent was the wrong part for my lift. The second jack had mis-matched connecting arms resulting in an unlevel jack.)

I think I'm pulling the "Mod" trigger today! I am sold on the Pedders Z bar conversion package. Also going to add in camber bolts, and street Z bushings. Anyone looking for to do sways may wanna check it out... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=199566

The pre-buy is officially over, but ask Pete and I'm sure he'll extend the 10% off discount.

I wonder how many containers of Tide I would need to trade for a set of sways.

If drug addicts are selling it to feed their addiction, why can't us mod addicts?

Excellent. I really like your setup. Thanks for the info.

Do you have room for one more? I don't have any mods but can lend a hand if someone needs help.

D.... You can update my list to just some lift time for the driveshaft and oil change. Should be up for about 2 hours total.

I got the heater hose, scoop/relocate and strut bar done.

I'm pretty interested in heading to the airstrip so I'll get there early and get mine done ASAP so I can help others as they roll in!

And Will in the camaro with a passenger is a no-go so we will be in two cars.

We tried and Kris said it was ok for a short ride but nothing far. I couldn't even get in!

Sent while on baby duty.... please sleep

I updated your mod list yesterday.

I'll include maps/directions to the speed challenge when I PM details closer to the event date. Also, I'll have printouts with the map/directions at mod day. We can use the recently opened stretch of 73 to bypass downtown Wilmington.
