Cool vids, glad to see the car being driven like it is supposed to be driven.
To answer dyno vs wheel stuff, I'd estimate 8-10 rwhp between 18s and 22s, maybe 6-8 rwhp between 20s and 22s. Results will vary depending on weight and how wide/sticky the tires are too. I've seen gains of 3-5 rwhp just by over-inflating the rear tires to max psi rating. Not that any of that matters though, it is just dyno racing shenanigans. Dyno the car exactly how you'd run it to see your real-world results.

Stopped by IPS today for a few minutes... talked to IPS Brandon about forging the engine. He recommended against it... he suggested I sell my stock block and get a 427 LSX. If I can sell my 22" wheels (they're for sale in the members market place), then I think the new engine would be a great winter project... and 9" kit. |

why not go 427 LSX. Do it girl. I mean I have never pushed you to do anything like this before (that I recall), and well, this sounds like a great little winter project to really get the car hopping along.
Vids are sweet, as I sit here an imagine what that same video with a 427 would be like. No one is pushing DO IT!! |

I'd recommend against spending more to build the engine. Spend some on the driver, attend a racing school and invest in your skills. You haven't maxed out what your car can already do, that level of power is far beyond what most would be able to push to the limit. Get used to the current power, and be able to drive it to full potential. Then upgrade. This is your first high hp build, don't make the mistake all of us seasoned veterans have done before - to ruin a car and make it too powerful, too unreliable, too finicky, or too difficult to drive and enjoy. For a car that primarily sees street duty, 550-650 rwhp is about perfect.

All good advice. Thank you. I'm not going to jump right into anything, but it's fun to think about it.
My only purchase I'm going to make in the near future is a helmet. I need it in order to go to the track. The guys at IPS are going with me to coach me about how to launch my car properly. They're also going to do some data logging. I'll keep you posted. |
