Hopefully they can get the mod finished before July. This way I can tell my dealer NOT to add a front license plate bracket and destroy the bumper.

I would instruct the dealer to not install the mount NOW, before your car arrives.
Have them throw the mount in the trunk for now.
I'd be tempted to leave it there till I got hassled and then your line would be something like; I just recieved the mounting frame, it's here in the trunk.
Ya might catch a slide depending on how draconian your town is w/enforcement.
Most officers HATE writing equipment violations, at least, those that I've met over the years.
In the meantime, you can come up w/a creative mounting if so desired.

My thoughts,
Rob

Here in Texas they require it and i've actually gotten a ticket for it on my other car, but it was easily dismissed. Texas is actually considering repealing the law that makes them manditory.

I'm not putting one one, ruining the look and aero dynamics of the car.

Autoloc makes a motorized plate that slides under the front bumper, you get pulled over, you flip a switch and it pops up <wicked grin>

I travel a lot in my work. I plan to fabricate a hinged bracket under the front valance if there is room. Or a bracket spring loaded that will fit in the grill opening without harming the paint and no holes. Then I can show it only when needed

I feel the need to chek out the autolock system.

I have a co-worker that drives a 2007 350Z and does not have the front license plate. He says he's never been pulled over for it. He left the registration sticker/paper on the bottom right-hand side of his windshield so that "it makes it seem like the car is brand new."

Front plates are stupid looking no matter how you mount them. If you dont want to spend any money, do like I have done in the past on my show trucks and zip tie it to the passenger side sun visor and while your driving you can flip it down and it can clearly be seen. Its easy to take off or you can just flip the visor up and it goes un noticed. No matter what though, traffic cops lie so if they dont like you they will get you in trouble no matter what(yay power trips!).
