Thanks for the words of encouragement. It's easy to get discouraged, but I know you guys are right. It will be worth it in the end. I just want very badly to have it in time for the fest.

Spent some time debadging my new truck this week. I also had the front bowtie painted to match the truck (thanks, Lupe!).

I went through the same waiting process when I rebuilt my car. I was waiting on the right size turbo to arrive, which never did, but my car sat for just over 4 months before I was able to drive it again. It seems like its taking soooooo long, but once everything starts going back in, it picks up really fast! Plus your permagrin will be restored the second you step on the gas!!

I'm hoping for significant progress in the next week or two or I may have to have the car trailered to another shop for them to do the work.
Emma, I feel your pain. I have had 2 bad experiences with shops in the past. After 4 months of waiting this last time, I decided to send my car to Jannetty. He turned it around in short order. Don't be shy about doing what you know is the right thing... In my case, incompetent shops don't let you know they're in over their heads until it's obvious... if there's one thing I've learned is: All speed shops are not created equal...

I have no doubt of the competence of my shop. I think they do the best work you can get anywhere. The are amazingly good. However, they have recently changed ownership and the new owner is investing in the shop and expanding it. They are growing so fast that they can't keep up with all the work they are getting. So, my car is sitting while they work on other cars right now.

They have closed their doors to new business for 2 weeks to try to catch up on some "big builds" they have going on. I was hoping mine was considered to be one of those, but apparently it's not. My car still sits.

I am sure it will all be great when it's done, but I am having terrible visions of missing Camaro 5 Fest 3 which is the main reason for having this work done to my car. I need to just trust that they will get it done, but I am nervous about it.

They may have plenty of talented people, but given you are an existing customer spending $xx,xxx with them, if that is how he is going to treat people, he will run that place into the ground. I obviously don't even know you (other than following your build thread), but even I'm pissed he would put you on the back burner.

Hope you get your car back in time for C5F3!! I also hope it exceeds all your expectations!!

Your truck looks awesome by the way!

IPS built an outlaw drag radial car for mark Carlyle (sp). The lsx event is in one week, and his motor just got finished. I am sure they are thrashing to get this car done. It blew the motor in October of last year at the LSX Shootout in Indy. He has $$$,$$$ about that much in his car, and he wants to run at Atlanta LSX. This is just what I thinking.

How the **** is yours NOT a big build? What are they working on ... the space shuttle?

I've had times when my money was too small. Like painting my stripes at Garys Customs but sheesh. A twin turbo LSX with all the bullet proof goodies seems like a big enough build to me.

Not good enough in my opinion. Not without more communication.

Exactly. They are trying to get Mark's car done. I saw Mark at IPS yesterday (great guy, btw) and he is working with the same mechanic who is building my car. I specifically requested that mechanic. I just need to be patient which is sometimes hard.

Thanks for letting me vent some frustration here. I am sure all will be well soon.

Oh. That's actually a little different.

Ya, if you want one particular guy I guess you run the risk of delays.

But one thing I've learned is the 'shop' is only as good as the guy working on your car.

You can send your car to the best shop in the country but if they put the newb on your car then you get newb work unless they are looking over his shoulder at his every move. Which they can't do.

It's not just the shops that we have to consider, it's the employees. If I were having a build done like you I'd damn sure want the best guy doing it so I totally get it.

BUT I don't have the patience for a build like this. If I can't do it myself (which obviously I could NEVER do one like this) then I won't do it.
