Yeah I should have been more clear. If you flip them end over end, one end has more cut away from the bottom so it won't interfere with the rearmost spark plug wire. In any event... the GM ones are much less goofy than the aftermarket ones I tried.

Glad you guys are enjoying the headers.

thahemp is right if you install the gaskets upside down they will interfere with the plugs. :P

Yeah I tried them every possible angle they can go but they were just a bit off.

I used my nibblers to clearance the gasket before i realized (while drinking a beer of course) the other side of the gasket was already clearanced. It was a duh moment haha.

Thankyou!

It's very straight forward! Just raise the car high enough headers slide right up no issues. Most people have a hard time locating the hole for the dip stick tube, have a buddy underneath mark it so when you put it back on he knows where to guide you. And be careful with the spark plugs. It look us 2 hours and that's with letting the car cool off on a hot azz day and lots of union water breaks lol.

Have fun it makes for good family memories, it did for me!

Collector design does matter. I am no expert, but I have personally seen a NHRA stocker with slip on collectors pick up .08 in the 1/4 mile with Burns stainless merge collectors on back to back runs. Headers and carbs sometimes show gains at the track that don't always show up on a dyno.

Not trying to he critical here, but how would someone determine that a .08 gain came from the collector design?? I realize it's on a stock class car, but still there are enough unseen factors to create a minuscule .08 difference. Wind difference, the slightest tire grip or spin, lane choice, tire pressure, shift points, etc...

I have gained or lost .1-.2 tenths with ZERO changes to anything. Now lets say i could go back in time and just say hypothetically I did some type of modification on 1 of those particular runs that theoretically gave me no gain, (like I closed all my AC vents). Would it be fair to say that "Dude I closed my AC vents and it picked up my car .1??
Sure, it happened right in front of me, but that doesn't mean that the AC vents being closed had any affect on a .1 difference.
