Since 1980

1963 Ford F100
1982 Chevrolet Celebrity
1989 Chevrolet Z24
1995 Chevrolet Camaro
2007 Ford Taurus
2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
1968 Ford F100
2007 Cadillac CTS
2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Throw in a 1996 Chrysler LeBaron Convertible and a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche the wife and I shared as an "adult go cart" or a vehicle to drive in the snow.

Contrast this to my wife, who I've known since 2004...she's owned 13 vehicles just in that time.

The poor Olds is just kept around to keep the drivetrain alive. Non-orig 455, TH400 and "O" type 12 -bolt Posi with 3.42 gears. Every body panel is rusted and/or damaged. Frame is rusted and distorted from 2 accidents. Roof is tweaked and full of bondo. Interior is fried from AZ heat. Car was a mid-western daily driver for 15+ years. I could spend $50-75K on restoring and end up with a car worth $20K. The sentimental value far exceeds the monetary value.

I get it. I think you’re making the right choice value wise. 1st and 2nd gen 442s are at the top of my list of muscle cars, even though most of them are showing their age. I haven’t owned one myself yet, but one day, I hope the stars align. My Dad had a ‘67 442 holiday coupe. Thanks for sharing!

I think you are the first to list a 55-57 Chevy, a car I've always wanted but never had.

Stormtrooper "Thank You" for starting this thread. It's nice to see what everyone had in their past lives and wish they had them today.

No problem! Again it wasn’t my original idea so I won’t take all the credit but am glad I did post to hear about some of our members sweet rides and to have a place to come back and remember in case some of us forget in the next 5-10 years

Paid $100 for the ‘56 (column shift) in ‘64 and $250 for the ‘57 with Hurst shifter in ‘65. The GTO (stolen 3mos old), 442, Riviera and Camaro got new ...it was my retirement gift to myself
