Replied to your PM. Mine is the stock gm insert. I think it is not as wide at the bottom. Need to take some measurements

Roughly 12.25" up top and 10.5" at the bottom. The vent is tapered

2014 Heat extractor on a 2010 hood

Just picked her up. Body shop did an excellent job and they made the ACS water tray fit with my 1le strut bar and Vararam intake! Oh and it's a real carbon fiber heat extractor.

When you measure the front of your hood to the hood vent is it 11'' or 11'' from the hole? Hope that makes sense. I have a Vararam as well and want to find the perfect place to mount it.

Haven't had a chance to drive it but I'm happy lol trying to decide if I want to have the center painted white

The one thing I did with mine was take off the factory foam seal on the extractor and replace it with 3m high bond tape. That way I could place it on the hood over the hole make sure it was centered and straight and then peel the backing off to adhere it to the hood. Now it is attached and becomes part of the hood structure and you can just use the drip tray underneath and no need for the extra aluminum cross pieces. I just fabricated a plate to mimic the bottom of the 2014 hood to attach everything.

I come in peace. I know it may seem like a sin to BOTH car factions, but I like it.

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread!

2015 SHO - Quick for a Dad/daily. (Subtly modded to keep the sleeper appeal. Lol)

Methods
Bi-metal jigsaw
7 foot ruler for guide and lines
aluminum cross bars for now, going tape after a little more trimming.
Tons of measuring, taping, trimming, (rinse and repeat)

Throw me a rev if you're in DFW and see me. Ain't another one like it.

Possible optical illusion warning. It's straight down to the centimeter.
