i'm looking at the one in red, gtx 550 ti 1gb. which i believe is the middle link that giga posted. 248watts under full load. so what does that mean? lol

That means if your psu is a 475w then you should be fine.

but 475w isn't just the video card, is it? that's the whole computer....

Sooooo....if my thinking is correct, lets say the whole computer is running at 400w out of the 475w that's available. the radeon is only using 76 of the 400w. that would mean this new card wouldn't work, right? so i would need a new power supply?

or am i totally off? lol

That's the capabilities of the psu... Not what your computer actually uses... Does it have a rating on it for efficiency?

No that's how it works. But your computer may not be pulling that much power.

I still recommend getting a 550 or 600w psu if you're going to do minor upgrade like the graphics card.
And in the future if you decide to go a little more into high end gaming build a decent computer, or buy one if you feel safer doing that
