I ended up test fitting the 9.5"x17" with a 6.7" backspacing wheels on Friday evening. The clearance was enough to clear the lower control with the car at ride height, but it was too close for my comfort so I radiused the control arm to give me rougly 1/4" clearance with weight on the back of the car, trying to mimic a hard launch. I didn't get any photos but will when it comes time to spray the control arms with paint. I plan on getting the slicks mounted and test them out with a few hard launches and see if it is enough.

Now I hope people understand this is a heavily modified car, being lowered almost an inch and a half with DSS's 9" conversion so this fitment issue is most likely not needed on stock cars if you want to run these 17" Welds as other posters have indicated.

I'll get some photos and test results within a week or so.

I still ended up having to do a little grinding on the control arm for squatting purposes, but I have yet to test them on the track. Work and family has me tied up, as here I am in the office at 5 in the morning on a Monday...it's going to be a long week...

I'll will still get this updated once I get some track time to know for sure.

But at least I got to have some fun on the back roads yesterday...
