I feel for you. I sure am glad that Perry @ PTS told me of the issue before I got them. Man, I would have been pissed

I have a good contact with the company.

Weld test fitted the 17x10 wheel on a stock Camaro. I believe thay are looking at the lowered application wheel fitment soon. Is there a relocation bracket that can be put on there to eliminate the rubbing?
I know you have to relocate the sway bar on the Mustang to get a 15x10 on it. Hope there is a solution. I think they look real nice. But they have to fit to work!

Glad I saw this, this was something I was considering to get soon. Do not want to raise and lower the rear of my car to race on weekends lol.

I agree with everyone on this page... Why sell/make a drag wheel for a stock car... I swear it doesn't make sense.

"Well, If I had a stock car, I wouldn't need/want your rims!!"

So to the people at Weld... Let try to do it right this time.... Let make a rim for a modded Camaro... Let me these available for people who might really need these...

Ummmmm, best Idea I've heard all day...

I've never bought a Welds before... and I'm sure not going to now.. Not when there are other options out there. Weld

Do not grind or modify anything to make these work! The suspension manufacture will tell you the same as well as it creates a domino effect on liability and more importantly makes the customer holding the candle.

There is no way that any person that has bought this setup is happy about having to whack at their car to make them fit.. Not when your spending close to 3000.00 dollars... I bet a lot of them didn't even know till it was to late...

There are a ton of options for wheels, but not lot in 17 inch. I will check with Weld to see what they are going to do to correct this.
Thanks for all your input. I will post up what I find out.

Sounds good.... But I think I'm going to go with bogarts now. I couldn't believe it when I was told of this problem!

Still a curious mind would like to know what weld does..

Having them for normal driving sucks.. I'd rather have a spinning stock wheel then.. lol...

plus if your driving on slicks and the catches you.. your not driving anymore.. Slicks are not DOT compliant.

I'd be pissed too. Unless Weld disclosed that these wheels are intended for 100% stock vehicles up front, they should assist with repairing/replacing that wheel. It is a cheap lesson learned. For future orders, this should be disclosed up front. It isn't the customer's fault that Weld did not test them on lowered cars. It IS their fault they didn't specify that the car had to be stock. You have to think that a set of RACING wheels would be targeted more to modified cars.

Those of you grinding/modifying suspension parts to accommodate these wheels are simply nuts. That is like sawing on a tree branch, when you are sitting on the wrong side of the cut.

Also, is anyone on this site even quick enough to warrant 17" drag slicks? When there are good options in 18" drag radials that other cars have already run 6's in the 1/4 on?
