  • 30 percent better fuel economy than the stock Camaro SS with its 6.2 liter V8

Hurst Performance Vehicles has revealed its Redline Series Hurst Camaro, the first ever turbocharged vehicle to wear a Hurst badge. Like the brand's modified Camaro SS, the turbo Camaro RS promises big horsepower and performance gains over more expensive, V-8 competitors.

The Redline Series was designed in collaboration with BFGoodrich Tires, who this year is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Radial T/A lineup of tires. BFG developed a celebratory model called the Radial T/A Spec, which of course, wraps the five-spoke, 18-inch Hurst T1 wheels.

Furthering the unique look are the Air-Speed rear deck spoiler and some classically-inspired graphics. The RS's stance drops, while handling improves courtesy of Hurst/Detroit Speed coil-overs and sway bars. Inside, designers replaced the factory hides with custom Katzkin leather. A requisite red iodized Hard-Drive "Pistol Grip" shifter also takes the place of the factory piece.

Hurst says a "50 percent gain in rear wheel horsepower and additional torque" is had with its STS remote-mounted turbocharger placed on the Hurst Modified exhaust -- meaning you're looking at around 360 rear wheel horsepower (the stock 3.6-liter V-6 makes 312 horsepower). Most interestingly, the setup provides "30 percent better fuel economy than the stock Camaro SS with its 6.2 liter V8." At the time of posting, the exact torque figure was not available.

Only 50 examples will be made per year at a price ranging from the low to mid-$50,000 range, depending on base car and Hurst options. Hurst offers a Gauge Package that provides drivers with boost pressure and turbocharger temperature indicators.

If the Hurst/Camaro Performance Series 4 is any indication, the Redline Series should prove to be very fun and extremely fast.

Excellent... except for the stupid lettering (which drives me nuts) and the company logos on the outside. Take those off, and drop about 5K off the price and it might be a lot better off. But 50 of those with the Hurst name will sell easy.

Waaayyyy too expensive at $50k. Come on that is the rumored price for the Z28. Sorry but the upgrades they did to the car are not worth $20k-$30k extra....I mean come on the V6 starts at like $24k.

I agree they definitely should have done a brake upgrade as well, especially for that price.

Oh and 30% better fuel economy than the SS....ok thats great...how is it compared to the stock V6?

Me likey! BUT.....

$50k+ for exclusivity.

$31k for 1SS MN6 that average 360rwhp STOCK
$7.5k Magnacharger (installed) = 480-500 rwhp
Total = $38.5k and making the Hurst turbo V6 eat dust again
