Alright !!!

The cage is finally done - nice job.

It ALWAYS takes longer than you think, but worth the safety. Now make sure you get the SFI 45.1 padding for your noggin...

Just running out of time.
Funny how he neglected to mention that when he strongly encouraged me to get the 6-bolt heads...

I hear you on the running out of time thing. I really wanted to have my car for a June meeet... and a July meet... I'll be lucky if it's done in time for the Camaro 5 Fest in August.

Thanks, speedster.

Are you never satisfied? I put the cage in the car this year instead of next year because I kept hearing your voice in my head saying "safety first."

I'm not sure yet. I'll know more when I can actually sit in it. The interior wasn't really in it yet. They have to fit the pieces into the car and cut around the cage. Then they have to remove the interior again. Then, it goes off to the paint shop for the cage to be painted. Then they put the interior back in.

The back seat will fit in the car for appearance reasons. No one has actually ever ridden in the back seat of the car. So, I won't miss that! I'll let you know how it all works out when I can actually sit in it again.

You will be very happy with 6-bolt heads. One of the "must" upgrades, when going in high boost.

Time frame is what it is, our cars are getting highly modified, it always
Takes time. The end result will be fun

I agree, but I started this project because of the upcoming C5F3 in Indy. So, I'd like to have it for the fest...

I also agree, the 6-bolt heads are a good idea. I just didn't realize it meant getting new exhaust manifolds. I must admit, the stock ones are fugly! I'm kind of happy to get something else.

Are they thinking it won't be ready by then? I know it's a lot of work

You can check my headers out. They are located right next to my car.
Just a good quality ceramic coated shorty headers.
They look prettier than stock exhaust, but I would prefer cast
manifolds for durability.
I will be at IPS tomorrow to get my sons car tuned, I will talk to
Tom more about the headers.

I asked Tom about the headers on Monday. He said he is considering several options on the exhaust manifolds. He might modify the stock set, use some after-market shorties (which he might have to modify), or fabricate some.

I'll be interested to know what info you get from Tom tomorrow.

Hey T, it will work just fine. If you grab that last video from the SST thread, it was filmed by my cousin sitting in the back seat. No problem. He used the crossbar to stabilize the camera. Just make sure there is either SFI padding or a helmet nearby if the person wants it...

I actually pulled the seat belts out of the back seat... I was looking to do a rear seat delete but those seats are GREAT at noise reduction... I drove it one evening without the rear seat in the car and it drove me nuts...
