The Toyota Tundra that towed Space Shuttle Endeavour made an appearance at the LA Auto Show.

I kinda feel like it's degrading Endeavour.

Atlantis, the background of the event where NASA announced the Space Shuttle retirement homes.

Today in Space History: (1958) After 92 days orbiting the Earth, Sputnik, the world's first satellite, reenters the atmosphere and disintegrates.

The cckpit isn't that hard to find.
Haha that thing is tilted and they probably stripped the inside bare. Aren't they standing them up? Getting to the ****pit won't be easy.

But seriously are they fragile? I read the tiles are glued on to felt from Stetson cowboy hats because the heat of reentry forces the shuttle to flex.

They aren't exactly stripped bare. Just a bunch of wiring and other components are missing from all of the orbiters except Discovery since Discovery is the vehicle of record. Also, Discovery and Enterprise are the only ones standing up. Atlantis is tilted off the ground, and Endeavour is on stilts right now. But it will soon be displayed as if it were on the launch pad.

The orbiters themselves aren't exactly fragile, their tiles are. They're so fragile you can break one with your finger nail. They are 90% air after all.

Someone posted this on GMI. James May flying into space in a Lockheed U-2.

Pontiac GTO chase cars too. Since the 1980s the Air Force has mostly used GM performance cars for this job.
