I'll find the problem and of course I'll post what I've found so maybe itll help some members. I still am going to keep the toilet mod on there tho. It's there to stay!

I went to Home Depot this morning and purchased two of the toilet valve seals.

I installed them about 45 minutes ago and took the Camaro for a test drive.

I've owned my Camaro for nearly two years now (5/31 it will be two years) and this is the FIRST time that the front suspension was quiet!!!!!!

When the front strut caps were off I could see wear bands in the paint where the rubber outer edge band on the cap was rubbing a lot. The toilet valve seal seems to cushion the strut cap just enough to stop it from banging/thumping on the body.

The best $8.40 I've ever spent on my Camaro!

Even if these toilet valve seals wear out every year, I can live with spending $8.40 a year for a quiet front suspension.

just saying that is someone two weeks ago had said that they did the toilette mod, but didn't elaborate on what it was, you'd have thought what?

Lol gotcha.

Question: what would happen if I put a 4" shorter end link on the front sway bar? It has plenty of travel and Clearance from what I'm looking at right now. Heres a pic of the factory endlink with the swaybar moved up about 4".

K, thx. I put it back together. I didn't find anything loose. The strut upper just floats in the tower like I speculated. I found that out in a funny way. I tried to pry it down after removing the top plate. No go. So I left it alone. Then my wife comes out side wondering why I'm taking apart my brand new car. As I was explaining the strut fell out the tower, the car shook...looked like it almost fell off the jack and it was pretty loud. Well I almost shat my pants. So I looked around and saw nothing wrong. I didn't figure our what it was until I put it back together.

I removed the left side end link. It did not feel loose or funny as I rotated the ball joint on each end. I guess that still doesn't mean it isn't bad. I can't put the pressure on it that the car does. I guess I'm going to take the strut apart and inspect the upper mount. I did retorque the upper nuts to 65ft lbs also.

I left a couple details out. When the strut fell down, I put some grease in the top of tower where the mount floats. Just for the heck of it I guess. So I drove it down the road after. Well it is quieter than was. It's about where it was when I put the rubber washer on it. So I think that part of it is fixed. I don't think I can isolate it any better than it is now. I'm going to change the end links and see what happens. I may just remove the front sway bar because it's easier than making end links and it's cheaper. At least it'll tell me where I stand. I remove the sway bar and it makes no more noise, I'll know where I stand. I'm excited for you guys that this fixed yours. That's Awsome! Plus $8 is worth it any day of the week to fill the unsightly gap.
