First few days when i received "Smokey", i heard the same sloshin[' sound from the fuel tank but gradually disappeared. Anyhow, i believe the design of the fuel tank needs optimisation; to add metal plates into the tank to prevent the harsh waves of fuel that give out uncomfortable noises, and not having to resort to our C5 member "KeepItGreasey"'s JOKES suggestion-ways to fix this:

#1 - come to a stop more smoothly

#2 - get some aftermarket exhaust installed

#3 - turn up the stereo

LOOOL!

I like you man! lol

THIS FUEL TANK NOISE SEEMS STILL TO BE EXISTING, SO LETS ALL SEND MSG TO GM REGARDING THIS ISSUE.

Regards,

I though the sloshing sound was due to using pressure washers around the tailpipes and
water entering the pipes. That would also explain why the sound is now gone.

Put in a trunk mat or dynamat. I don't notice this sound in my car.

I can't hear it in mine, and no clunking when I stop or go over tracks. Ask about it next time you're at the dealership and see what they say.

Yeah I have that too and find it kind of annoying. read somewhere the tank is plastic and might be the reason you hear it more.

I haven't heard it, but I would think it's similar to when you drink something and jump around. You can hear the liquids sloshing around your stomach.

If you think that makes noise try driving with the rear seat down. Now you will hear road noise.

no sounds from my trunk. Are you sure there isn't a trunk monkey in there? I don't hear any sloshing sound either. Maybe I have my tunes turned up too loud!

If you have the stock mufflers, it may be water buildup in them.

Is your battery bolted down tight. The quick stopping motion could be lifting it up slightly and when you finally come to a stop it could be banging back down into place. I had issues like this with the Jackstand and Tire bolted down in the back of my 3rd gen. It was just barely loose enough to make the tire and jack move to the point it would make a bang noise.
