Guess I am going all about this mod thing the wrong way.
Now I know when there is something I want all I have to do is jump on here and ask for sponsors.
Sorry, guess I am just old school. If I don't have the money for it I don't buy it until I do and I sure as hell don't ask for someone to give it to me or reduce the cost.
I have been wanting chrome wheels. If someone sponsors you do YOU mind sponsoring me and shipping your chrome ones my way?

If you have all these sponsors where are all the stickers on the car? I thought the whole point of sponsorship was to promote their shop/product?

Not the way all sponserships work!!!!! Sometimes it's better to show off in person!!!!!!! No stickers needed some mods are just so cool you have to ask about it!!!

Ya, I'd love some new "shoes" for my babies feet - but I too am old and oldschool and I'll just have to do it the old-fashioned way. Save, Save Save..

But if y'all are listening my baby needs shoes, exhaust, heck supercharger too. She's a daily driver and "will be seen" and hopefully someday "heard"..

IMO, having had 18 national sponsors on my last car including Microsoft, Goodyear, etc...

The best thing is to build a proposal of your car. i.e. Mod list, list of shows, and how you will make that company money. Then once you have that start calling and emailing.

Just my .02 cents

Wow
So let me get this straight. Since we are in the 2000s as you call it,all we have to do is ask for what we want and we are not expected to work for it? Holy crap!! I was born way to early (1963). Guess I am missing out on the "give me" generation.:(
Not trying to start a poo storm here. Just trying to comprehend how someone can ask for something like this. I was'nt brought up to ask for anything and neither is our daughter.
Since you wont be sponsoring me your chrome wheels I guess I will take my "paid for by me" polished wheels and roll on.

This would be the best way IMO.
But you have guts to come out and ask for sponsor's.

Sponsorship has zero to do with getting "Free" stuff. It is an agreement between vendor and the sponsored party, where the vendor receives marketing value from the deal. It isn't the sales managers who approve or award sponsorship deals, it is the marketing guys. I've had numerous vehicles with sponsored parts, and nothing was "Free" about those parts. The hours you spend promoting brands on the internet, attending shows and major events across the country, magazine feature coverage, etc... are what pay for these parts. Think of it as an exchange for your time, and your reputation. The more time you can (and prove) to devote, the more major shows you attend, and the better your reputation, the more you get sponsorship deals.

I sell wheels, and I don't even get free wheels from vendors. That would be nice

Tony

so basically what papa bear is saying is that people who are sponsored get stuff for free and dont have to work fir it ??????

well i am a ufc fighter/ mma , and i have tons of sponsors so i guess what your saying is i should have to pay for my gloves and training because god forbid i ask for it ???
well papa i work very very hard for my sponsors and i give the crowd what they want which is a good fight or perhaps some blood ! so because of my dedication and hard time and also how well i fight they approached me with a SPONSORSHIP !
not all of us can afford to get nice things or even just make it in an industry wether it be fighting or cars, sometimes you have to have a shoulder to lean on .
and ive seen bullitts car in person and this thing well deserves a sponsor , this guy is all over the place reppin his sponsors and has brought them tons of money just from going to shows and setting people up with his sponsors company. bottom line nothing is free and he proves that by how hard he works for his sponsors !

I'm just curious as to what the "Monster" runs down the 1/4 mile, and how it stacks up against some of our faster Camaro5 members?
