Make sense?
That makes sense, but that's if everything goes smoothly and in a perfect world it usually doesn't. I know if I made the drive solo I could see no issue with arriving there by 6:30 and leaving Benicia at 5:00.

So, are we still planning to leave Cabazon at 2pm or should we push the time back a tad?

X 10.

I know we can do it as long as we leave on time and stick to the schedule. For those that are slow they'll either catch up or get left behind. I hate to be that way but 5 cars can't hold up the entire group.

If everyone wants to make it an hour earlier, someone post a poll or something but we need a majority vote. I don't care either way. We just need to make a plan and stick to it.

I'm keeping a close eye on Phoenix traffic and today is a bad example (lane closures) since Nascar is there this weekend.

I just don't think that cruising at 80 is possible with such a large group. We'll be 90-100 strong by the time we enter Arizona

Why not just drive at 70-75, and get there around 7-7:30? It is not a big deal for us to be there at 7.

I'm with IBM/2SS/RS/LS3's wife....I need some time to get checked in (which will take forever when we all get there at once) and maybe take a power nap before the meeting and greeting begins.

It would be nice to be there an hour earlier but it would be cruel to make the norcal folks wake up before 4am.
Personally I'm worried ppl will take their sweet time on the breaks and hold us up. I'm planning on brown bagging it so I dont have to waste any time waiting in line for a burger, or whatev.

I agree that if we just stick to the schedule we should be fine. That means we'd need the team leaders to make sure their group isn't slacking off.

I think we need to get a definition of the meet and greet before we decide on anything. Are we just going to BS in the parking lot at the Courtyard or is there something more formal planned?

I go to work every morning at 3:30 so 4AM is OK with me.

My suggestion....

There will be plenty of time to BS with each other once you get there. Get there safe and sound with the group and then have a blast.

If people are taking their sweet time, they can catch up later. Don't be a nazi about it, but provide a guiding hand..."We're leaving in 10 minutes, please get your act together before then so we can roll out."

I can deal with waking up a little earlier and I was also planning on bringing my own food to snack on. I'm not into taking long breaks on road trips. I like to get to where I'm going with minimal breaks, but that's just how I've always been. I fully understand the need to stop to stretch your legs, gassing up and to use the restroom but we shouldn't stop to socialize during our stops. Just my .02. I still plan to ride with the convoy unless it seems to be taking too much time and if that happens then I'll break off and see you guys when ya get there.
