Waiting is half the fun

When I was a kid in the late sixties I was always riding my Spider bike the six or seven miles into town and hitting all of the dealerships to check out the newest musclecars.I had the bug pretty bad back then and still do today.Back then there was always something a little bit wilder coming and waiting to see it for the first time was better than Christmas morning was to me.All of the area salesmen got to know me and some would even start the cars and rev them up for me!At our house we're all anxiously awaiting the new Camaro release, especially my sons!My wife and I each have our own '05 GTO now and we both love them, they're really fantastic cars. The problem is this new bunch of retro style musclecars, they look great and are so tempting. We really like the new Mustang and we're actually considering getting a Challenger R/T.I test drove one and while it looks like a pony car it felt more like I was driving a big sedan, nothing at all like the GTO which feels like a sports car in comparison.I wasn't real impressed with the acceleration but I test drove an automatic and our cars are six speeds.Still,we like the Challenger very much as a possible replacement car for my wife,I'm keeping my GTO.We're holding off buying the Dodge until we see the new Camaro in person and can compare them.My youngest son is almost disgusted with us and thinks we are traitors for even considering a Challenger!Just a few more weeks to go,man this is fun again!

Sounds like you need to leave the decision making up to your youngest Son.

Seriously, sounds like you have the right idea... and I agree with you that these are fun times for cars. Now, if we could only resurrect AMC...

You might be having fun waiting the couple of weeks to drive a Camaro. Many of us have deposits on SS's and waiting suxs....I should be getting mine in a waiting time of 7 to 8 months. I might be wrong but you might have trouble driving a SS that is sold. If one person backs out on a purchase...that might be your only hope for months....sorry to say it.
