But I have this same issue too. That is the only draw back I can find about this car. It is absolutely the worst car I ever had to refuel! But I wouldn't trade it for anything....even if I had to use a funnel!
just imagine if the fill hole was on top of the fender

I have this problem as well. I just hold the nozzle. I'll have to try turning it to the side. Never thought about that before.

I've had that problem with a vette before, but haven't had a problem with my Camaro anywhere yet. I've seen lots of others have though. This isn't the first thread about this problem.

I don't think it would be a problem. I've never had a problem refueling my Vette.

No issues at all with mine. I have stopped at many different brand stations and never had the nozzle keep turning off.

Bring a knife with you and strip the rubber portion of the nozzle off. It should correct the problem. It's probably some sort of sanitary wrapper they put on or something. There doesn't seem to be any other reason for them.

this issue was resolved in another thread. What you actually have to do is actually push the nozzle in a little harder, there is an internal hook in the gas tank that will attach to the nozzle once you reach it, one you reach it it will feel loosly hooked and you will be able to fill up with no problems. I had to fish around while pushing the first couple times, but you'll get used to it. I am sure it has something to do with the collars and letting fumes out. It must need to be pushed pretty far in to work properly and GM designed the gas tank not to fill properly unless you push the nozzle all the way in... Sounds crappy from a usability standpoint, but I bet most new cars are designed like this....

I bought a key at the motorcycle shop that locks the rubber hose back in place so you can see how full you are on your MC gas tank, works on the Camaro also. You can fill it right to the bung

I hate these kind of nozzles. They're designed to not let gasoline fumes out but every time I use them I end up spilling gasoline. Terrible idea.

How lucky I am, I've been going to the same station for more than 30 years and they have a human filling my car while I go inside and either get out of the heat in summer or the cold in winter. Gas station with service are getting rare nowadays.

Had a similar problem with my '05 Mustang GT using the same type of rubber collar nozzles... All of the Gas stations I used to use (Amoco/BP) that had rubber collar nozzles have closed. Find other stations that don't have that type of pump.
