Rain...

What's the deal if it rains those days and folks can't get on the tracks? Any real threat of rain and a lot of people will prob opt for not making the trip.

We had one day of some rain Saturday afternoon last year. The folks at the track did a great job of drying it out so they could finish racing.

SS was there last year. Im pretty positive what he is asking is if It rains to the point where LoR shuts things down completely.

Yeah, I was at the track until 7:30 last year.

Exactly. If the forecast is calling for rain for Friday/Saturday when I leave on Wednesday I will not be going. That's a lot to invest if the weather is that uncertain. I was curious what, if any, the backup plan is.

You never know what Mother nature is going to do untill about 2 hours after she does it.

If the forcast looks that bad, then I'm sure there will be people that choose not to make the trip.

There's nothing they can do about that. The weather is the weather.

Last year it rained like heck on Saturday for about 20-30 min, hard enough for the vendors to quickly pack up their trailers and take down all the awnings, etc.

1/2 hour later all was back to normal.

Humid as heck right now. Right around 90 deg. Haven't had a good rain in a few wks. No telling what can happen. Pinks did an episode here a few yrs ago and had to cancel and reschedule a day due to horrible (almost tornado) weather.

The storms last year were crazy. 30 minutes if rain equals about 4 hrs of track drying unfortunately. To bad we can't run under the lights in case the weather forces the issue.

We'll be there rain or shine......

The Fest was always a social gathering first.....car show and track day second. I know the track is a lot of the reason many people come. But at the same time - I think what brings people from all corners of the country is to see friends from online and have a good time. We can do that wet just as well as dry.

I had my car rained IN during that 30 minute storm last year...so you don't need to worry about whether or not we're aware of this....

The bad news (maybe?) is that there is no backup, or rain-date. We can't control the weather, and can't afford to make any promises regarding its cooperation.

That all said.....noaa is calling for a little sprinkle maybe saturday morning, and a possible T-storm on Sunday....but they're also calling for sunny skies the rest of the day, and sheer sunlight on either end of that little shower pocket.

So.....it can move either way....I watched this month-forecast for a few different events this year, and based on the trends, I'm hedging my bets that the T-storm will move into Monday, and we'll have a GREAT weekend for the Fest!

Mid-80s.....at least that's what they're calling for. No clue what the heat index ("feels like") will be.

Indiana weather is alot like Illinois weather, if you don't like it, wait 5 minutes. I'll be there regardless. Not going to let a little rain ruin my weekend

Last few days 90 with heat index around 100 (I just played softball and let me tell you it was hot). Saturday is supposed to cool off into the 80s and less humid then the following week the same trend hope it keeps going that way
