But, if you do decide to attempt it, then loosen the bolt before you bring it back up to the correct torque setting. Not doing so is a big "no-no." I remember reading that one should not re-check torque settings as it could do more harm than good. As I recall, a tightener (i.e., the bolt) has a maximum clamping power at a specified torque setting. Once a tightener is torqued, there will be some "loosening" of the bolt head, not threads, even though the torque level is correct. When you retorque, you are in essence exceeding the recommended torque value. So, if you want to check the torque settings, then loosen all bolts first, then bring them back up to the specific torque level. A properly torqued bolt should not come loose.

Will let you know as soon I figure anything out...if I even do that is. It's been driving me nuts but I've just been solving it momentarily by leaving the windows open while driving. Thankfully the noise is quiet enough.

After talking to just about everyone I run into about it I'm starting to think that maybe the system is pulling in air where it shouldn't be. If anyone has any suggestions where to look I'm open to ideas. I've been searching but everything is so enclosed in that area I can't easily figure anything out. don't really wanna tear anything apart until I really know this noise isn't going away.

i have that exact same issue. 250 miles on mine.
it does follow the rpms. thought it was something to do with the clutch but it happens only with the engine rpms. it almost sounds like fluid going through the glove box area. it's weird. I cant figure it out

HELP

Got the same problem. At the dealer right now and they are checking it for the second time.

I have a 2SS RS manual and have never heard any strange noises. Please let us know what you figure out so we can be sure to check on our cars.

I've heard the same noise as well coming from the glovebox/dash area. Just passed 1000 miles and I only hear it in 1st and 2nd gear above 2500 and 3000 rpm's.

I have a manual and I have heard no such sound.. I make it a habit not to use the radio and roll down the windows the majority of the time so I can hear for things like that.. I don't think what you are hearing is normal. You should get it checked..

A/C...at least thats what I think it is on my car. I'm too busy this week and am taking it for a tune next week. So I won't be able to verify until the end of next week.

My sounds like a crackling noise, similar to a bad radio station. It happens with radio on or off but with the A/C off there is no noise at all. It sound like it is coming from the passenger side speaker but I think it is coming from behind the glove box.

fyi-I have an A6

IT sounds like it is the heater core because the water from the radiator flows through it, and some of you said it did it less when warmed up. Just my guess.

I took my car in yesterday for a gurgling/water sound coming from behind the glove box area at about 3000 rpms and up. The guy at the shop told me that they just recently received information about this and I was the second Camaro to come in complaining of the sound. I sure hope they're right. The weird water pressure sound at 3000 rpms had my thinking something was really wrong with my car.
They ordered a new part to replace the stock part. They told me the car was fine to drive in the mean time.
